There are a number of establishments along Bulabog beach renting top quality equipment with a good selection of board and sail sizes. Recognised IKO Kiteboarding courses are available for all levels from beginners to advanced. Beginners get started flying a trainer kite on dry land to get the feel of flying and controlling the kite. From there, students learn to fly the kite in the water without a board, also known as "body-dragging". Once the student has accomplished this, the next step is getting on a board. There are several types of lessons available, depending on time you have available and/or prior kiteboarding experience.
Kiteboarding is a fun, fast sport which has really taken off in Boracay over the last few years and there are now far more kiteboarders here than windsurfers.
The International Funboard Cup is held every year at Bulabog Beach Boracay. This event, which used to be for windsurfers only, now attracts kiteboarders from all over the world.
There is always lots of fierce competition and fun, and also interesting games for times when the wind is not cooperating. Later in the evening, the famous Boracay nightlife takes over at the many themed gatherings. There are sunset cocktails, dinners, a fashion show, and even mini-Olympic games! To finish off this event, the organisers arrange a lavish dinner reception where the winners are awarded their medals.
