Bulabog Beach is a large lagoon about two miles long, protected by offshore reefs. It has become known as the top windsurfing and kite boarding (kitesurfing) beaches in Asia. The windy season is between November and April when winds are generally steady and onshore, blowing usually between 12 and 20 knots. The beautiful, turquoise waters are always warm, hovering around 27’C. There is shallow and flat water in the bay and rolling and breaking waves out beyond the reef for the more adventurous kite boarders.

There are a number of establishments along the beach renting top quality equipment with a good selection of board and sail sizes. Recognised IKO Kiteboarding courses are available for all levels from beginners to advanced. Beginners get started flying a trainer kite on dry land to get the feel of flying and controlling the kite. From there, students learn to fly the kite in the water without a board, or "body-dragging". Once ready, the next step is getting on a board. There are several types of lessons available, depending on time you have available and/or prior kiteboarding experience.

Kite boarding is a fun, fast sport which has really taken off in Boracay over the last few years and there are now far more kiteboarders here than windsurfers.
